A Master of Ceremonies or MC, is the official host of an event. For a wedding, they’re the ones who keep the reception running smoothly and ensure everyone has a good time. Here’s what an MC does:
- Manages the flow of events: Introduces the wedding party, announces speeches, guides guests through the schedule (like cake cutting or first dance), and keeps things on time.
- Engages the audience: Makes announcements, shares anecdotes, and keeps the energy up with their personality.
- Coordinates with vendors: Works with the DJ, caterers, and other vendors to ensure everything runs seamlessly.
- Handles unexpected situations: If something goes awry, the MC is there to troubleshoot and keep things positive.
I bring over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including front and back of house operations and function management. This experience has instilled in me a strong customer-focused approach and a keen attention to detail.
I understand how events should run, and I also have firsthand experience in how they do run. Recognising that no two events are alike, I approach each one with a unique perspective. My solid hospitality background allows me to work seamlessly with in-house chefs and catering companies, wait staff, venues, but most importantly my clients, to ensure as much as possible a seamless and stress-free experience.
